The KitchenAid Custom Kitchen Over Spray Maker is an eye-catching coffee maker that has been placed in the middle of the pack for most of our tests. It was one of the slowest we tried, but the critics were very pleased with the quality of the coffee.
To test the coffee machines, we prepare the same amount of the same coffee with the same amount of water in each of our containers and pay attention to the quality of the coffee obtained and the speed and ease of the whole process. KitchenAid took almost 10 minutes to make 8 cups of coffee, and it's slower than any other competing product. These 10 minutes are not so important on most mornings, especially because you do not have to worry about the machine. But it can be annoying to be late one morning. On the positive side, this is one of the programmable models so you can adjust all night before you prepare coffee at the right time.
This device may take a little longer than others, but the resulting cup of coffee is very hot. This corresponds to the highest temperatures in our coffee tastings. Some degrees may not matter, but the closer the coffee gets to the ideal, the better. The National Coffee Association recommends that the water temperature be between 195 and 205 degrees Celsius. The coffee we made with this KitchenAid coffee machine was about 183. Most of the devices we tested made coffee much cooler.
Our critics liked the look of this coffee maker, which comes in different shades matching the decor. It's almost the highest we've tried, so be careful if you have low kitchen cabinets. It's also narrow, so your footprint on the counter is minimal.
